Bio

Claire McRae concentrates her practice in the areas of corporate and transactional law, estate planning, and estate settlement. She has over ten years of experience representing corporations and LLCs in such varied matters as formation, day-to-day operation, contract drafting and negotiation, capital raise transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and succession planning. Ms. McRae has represented businesses in equity and asset purchase and sale transactions at eight- and nine-figure valuations. In addition, she advises not-for-profit entities in securing and maintaining IRS 501(c) tax-exempt status and navigating the unique tax and compliance issues that impact such organizations.

Ms. McRae also represents individual clients in estate planning and estate settlement. Her development of an estate plan begins with a careful analysis of a client’s assets, liabilities, personal needs, and family dynamics, coordination with a client’s other professional advisors, including accountants and wealth managers, and culminates in documents that accomplish her client’s wishes in the most estate- and gift-tax efficient way possible. She’s experienced in the drafting and interpretation of wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, health care proxies, and advanced healthcare directives (or “living wills”). Finally, Ms. McRae regularly represents fiduciaries, beneficiaries, and creditors in estate probate and estate administration proceedings in Surrogate’s Courts across the Capital Region and beyond.

Ms. McRae began her career as a Law Clerk in Lemery Greisler’s 2011 Summer Associate program and became a member of the firm in 2023. Prior to graduating law school, Ms. McRae interned with the Albany County District Attorney's Office and the Schenectady County Probation Department. She is admitted to practice in the State of New York and is a member of the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, and the Saratoga County Bar Association.
