Lynn E. Schwartz concentrates her practice in the area of U.S. business immigration law, representing corporate clients seeking to acquire temporary work permits or permanent resident status for foreign national employees.  She has secured temporary work visas for aliens of extraordinary ability or achievement (including those in the fashion and entertainment industry, physicians and others), as well as investors, multinational managers/executives, workers with specialized knowledge, and those in specialty occupations. Ms. Schwartz also handles citizenship applications, as well as family-based immigration petitions, including same-sex marriage green cards.

In addition to her immigration practice, Ms. Schwartz represents the firm’s banking clients in commercial lending transactions.  Her background in general corporate law has been instrumental to both her business immigration and commercial lending work.  She has assisted clients with all aspects of business and corporate law, including the formation of new entities, drafting corporate documents and agreements, and securing 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status.

Prior to relocating to Upstate New York, Ms. Schwartz lived and practiced law in Manhattan, first in the commercial litigation department of Stroock & Stroock & Lavan LLP, and thereafter in the Corporate Legal Department of a Fortune 500 company.  She is admitted to practice in the State of New York and the State of New Jersey, and she is a member of the New York State Bar Association.

Before going to law school, Ms. Schwartz was an oncology social worker, providing counseling and discharge planning services to cancer patients at the New York Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan.
