A founding member of the law firm, John C. Lemery has practiced law in the Capital Region for more than 45 years. He is an economic development specialist, focusing on siting, financing, structuring, and all other aspects related to economic development projects for clients. Together with other members of the firm, he has represented the developers of the 1,350-acre Luther Forest Technology Campus which many consider the largest economic development project in Upstate New York..

Mr. Lemery was the attorney primarily responsible for the development of the $46 million – Six Flags Great Escape Lodge & Indoor Waterpark, New York's first hotel with an indoor waterpark.

Mr. Lemery has served as counsel to several Capital Region companies and local governmental economic development corporations.

More generally, Mr. Lemery's practice focused on the areas of commercial and corporate law, including industrial development financings. In addition, Mr. Lemery has worked closely with management to structure buyouts from several public companies through structured financings, commercial loans, mezzanine financing, and equity participation. He has also helped companies obtain targeted funding from the State of New York.

Mr. Lemery is admitted to practice in the State of New York.  He served on the Member Loan Committee of the Capital Region Economic Development Corporation and was a member of the Economic Development Counsel of the State University of New York at Albany, and a former member on the regional advisory board of the US Small Business Administration. He has spoken on issues related to development and community economic well being, and he is an Adjunct Professor Emeritus of Entrepreneurship and Business Formation at the Graduate School of Business at the State University at Albany.

In 1996, Mr. Lemery received the Saratoga County Economic Development Corporation's Economic Development Award for Exceptional Economic Development Leadership. He served as a Captain in the United States Army from 1965 to 1967 and was a recipient of the United States Army Commendation Medal.

Mr. Lemery's community services have included: Founding member of Partners for Progress development of the Wood Theatre-Glens Falls;  Adjunct professor- Entrepreneurship & Business Formation, Graduate Business School, SUNY Albany;  Former Director – Warren County Bar Association;  Former Board Member – CEG;  Loan Committee Member – Capital Region EDC.
