Lemery Greisler maintains an extraordinarily active and ever-expanding real estate practice. This practice not only serves a diversity of clients, it supports the other disciplines and practitioners of the Firm. Our attorneys assist clients in all aspects of a given project, from initial site acquisition through the land use planning and governmental approval process, including offering plans, financing, marketing, and management. In addition, the Firm’s practice involves a broad range of activities that support developers of all kinds of real estate projects, large and small, including the following:

  • Apartment complexes
  • Residential housing subdivisions
  • Office buildings
  • Shopping centers
  • Manufacturing and industrial facilities
  • Hotels
  • Hydroelectric projects
  • Resort properties

For its banking and finance clients, the Firm routinely documents and closes transactions in which the primary collateral is real estate. Clients, including national, regional, and community banks, certified SBA lenders, and local development agencies, present institutional needs and financing programs to which the Firm’s attorneys tailor documentation and closing procedures.

Our real estate practice is greatly augmented by our attorneys’ expertise in the areas of real estate title examination and insurance. One of the Firm’s attorneys, Charles B. Dumas, is counsel for Chicago Title Insurance Company, and that experience brings the Firm a high level of talent to efficiently resolve in-house the inevitable issues that arise with regard to real estate.

Recently, we successfully structured and secured requisite municipal approvals from the Towns of Malta and Stillwater, New York, for the Luther Forest Technology Campus and from the Town of Greenfield, New York, for the redevelopment of the Saratoga Polo grounds.
